Description

Grade II 17th century barn conversion set amidst pretty countryside just outside Ludlow. Tastefully converted and well-equipped. Sleeps 12 - 6.

Wandering William is an ancient farmstead comprising a magnificent Grade II listed, timber-framed barn dating back to the 17th Century which provides fabulous self-catering accommodation for up to 16 people, and an adjoining stone barn (Owl Barn), which provides versatile workshop space for group activities.

Tastefully and imaginatively converted in 2002, Wandering William is equipped to a very high standard and offers spacious, comfortable, 4-Star accommodation. The property features five oak staircases, two lounges with wood-burning stoves, a large kitchen/dining room, six bedrooms, an additional gallery bedroom and a large courtyard garden.

The Owl Barn is an old stone barn with solid oak floorboards which has been sensitively restored to create a light, airy space with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Opening out onto a newly created Zen garden with pools, bamboos and acers, it provides an ideal space for any number of workshop activities including yoga, pilates, tai-chi, art, singing, music and dance, as well as being suitable for lectures, seminars and discussion groups.

Set amidst pretty countryside, yet lying within a mile of the centre of the historic town of Ludlow, this property provides an ideal venue for extended families or groups of friends to get together for a celebration. It is also a fantastic place for a group of people to get together to work on a project, develop new skills or pursue artistic, creative and holistic interests in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere away from the stresses of day to day living.

A word about the area. Ludlow is a gem! Described by John Betjeman as the loveliest town in England it is renowned both for its splendid Medieval castle and pretty buildings and for its excellent food shops and award winning restaurants. The surrounding countryside is rich in history and is a fantastic area for walking and cycling, with Offa's Dyke and the Long Mynd both close by and the Mortimer Trail footpath starting in Ludlow.
