Description

Spacious upstairs beamed stables flat, comfortably fitted, linen & towels provided, overlooking attractive garden, glorious views, ideal base cycling, walking, bird watching, touring, also short breaks and B&B.

Woodhouse lies on the SW boundary of Richard's Castle parish, three miles from the A49 in the valley between Ludlow and Leominster (O.S. SO 479 688). Our property is at the bottom of a tree-lined valley called The Goggin. This is an area near to the Mortimer Trail, enjoyed by walkers and energetic cyclists. Come and enjoy our quiet location (apart from agricultural sounds of long horn cattle, sheep and the occasional tractor) and views over the valley to Orleton village. Our local shop/post office is in Orleton, the nearest bus stop is in Richards Castle 1 3/4 miles away, just near The Castle Inn pub. There are two pub/restaurants also in Orleton. We are five miles from Ludlow and nearly seven miles from Leominster.

Our first-floor beamed stables flat, served by a private water supply, is part of a complex of brick, half-timbered and stone former farm buildings, with a cottage garden and five acres of tree-bordered fields. Inside the flat you will find a large living/dining room with TV and video, radio and an assortment of books to suit all tastes. The well-fitted kitchen includes an electric cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, fridge, washing machine, kettle, iron/ironing board, vacum cleaner and all crockery, cutlery and pans etc. The bedroom is spacious with double bed and all bed linen supplied, chest of drawers, wardrobe and chairs. The bathroom offers a bath with shower overhead, sink, toilet and heated towel rail. All towels are provided.

There is ample car parking space at the foot of the stairs and the flat looks out over our garden and woodland. The garden and summerhouse are there for guests to enjoy. Relax in these peaceful surroundings, listen to the birds, read a book, whatever you please. We offer our guests a welcome tray on arrival after 4pm and on departure request that you are ready to leave by 10 am. We have a 'No Smoking' policy within the flat and regret that we cannot accept any pets. We can also offer short breaks and bed and breakfast. Do call for our brochure and price guide.

In this South Shropshire/North Herefordshire area you will find many events and activities. Ludlow and Leominster, both very interesting historic towns, have many ancient buildings of character. Both have arts festivals and Ludlow has a food and drink festival, Green festival and the castle attracts visitors all year round. There is also a market on the square most days selling produce to tempt the palette and various other themed events. Locally the National Trust and English Heritage properties provide historical interest and beautiful grounds. The National Garden scheme have gardens to attract you throughout this region. Sport and leisure centres, golf and cycle hire keep you fit. However woodland and hill walks to the Mortimer Trail begin at out gate. Good pubs and restaurants are available in all price ranges to round off your holiday here.
