Lower house dates from the early 17th century and is situated on a quiet country lane amongst the hills of the Welsh borders. There is excellent walking from the house and lots of interesting places to visit in the area.

Lower house is located 8 miles west of Ludlow. The accommodation is a comfortable, family run business situated off a quiet country lane amidst the rolling hills of the Welsh Marches and is an ideal centre for exploring the beautiful countryside.

Accommodation: We have 3 comfortable twin bedrooms in the house all with en-suite shower rooms, radio, TV and tea making facilities. A further double bedroom is available with it's own private bathroom. There is a large, private sitting room for guests which, in cooler weather, features an open log fire. Guests are also welcome to relax in our attractive, extensive gardens with splendid views of the surrounding hills.

Food: Our delicious Aga cooked meals are freshly prepared using home grown or locally obtained produce. They are served in our large dining room which features oak beams and a huge inglenook fireplace.

Breakfast is served from 8am and consists of a selection of fruit juices, fruit compote, cereals, and yoghurts. This is followed by a traditional cooked breakfast or lighter options. We use locally produced award winning sausages and bacon and our own hens provide all the eggs! To complete the meal, toast spread with home-made jam and marmalade or local honey followed by tea or coffee will set you up for the day.

2 course Evening meals are available by prior arrangement.

With notice, guests with specific food requirements or allergies are catered for.

Dinner is usually served at 7pm

As Lower House is not licensed, guests are welcome to bring their own wine.

Lower House is an ideal venue for family get-togethers, reunions and exclusive parties. Depending on the composition of your group, we can accommodate up to 12 people and are happy to discuss a menu to suit your requirements.

Additional unassessed family accommodation is occassionally available. Please ask for details.
