Winter Wellbeing Cookery Course

Winter Wellbeing Cookery Course
Now Christmas is over, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre’s Winter Wellbeing Cookery Course will help you get back on track or kick off your New Year’s resolution perfectly. Mid-winter can be a tough time for body and soul. This hands-on session is all about fighting the blues with vitamin boosts and happy food.

Run by local charity, Grow Cook Learn, the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre is the perfect place to start your exploration of the Shropshire Hills and learn all about their food, history and landscape. Back in 2016, the Centre was able to set up a pop up kitchen, kindly sponsored by Ludlow Food Festival, and this has been used for many courses including Sizzling Samosas, Herbs and Spices and Better Baking to name a few.

Local lady, Milly Rees moved to Shropshire in 1997 and runs extremely popular workshops and demonstrations. On Tuesday 16th January, join Milly again as she explores healthy, wholesome food for the ultimate Winter Wellbeing course. Prepare and eat colourful, vitamin fuelled dishes to kick start the year.

From 10am to 2pm, in the pop-up kitchen you will create delicious breakfasts, lunches, suppers and snacks specially designed by Milly to support your immune system, boost you intestinal flora and recharge your batteries. You’ll leave with your delicious food, a new zest for cooking and a real spring in your step!

For just £35 per person, booking is essential with discounts available for members of the supporter scheme.

Praise for Milly includes:

“Excellent recipes, sensible and easy.” “Inspiring and fun, with lots of goodies to take away!”

Entry to the Discovery Centre and Onny Meadows is free but there is a charge for visitors to enjoy our Shropshire Hills Through Time exhibition and visit our mammoth. The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre offers an extensive programme of family events, adult courses and a variety of activities for the whole family. The unique grass roofed building houses a replica of the famous mammoth skeleton found in Shropshire. The café serves delicious home-cooked food. Browse our extensive shop selling a range of quirky gifts. Every half term and school holiday we provide hands-on family activities.
