Wenlock Olympian Gliding has a new sponsor

Wenlock Olympian Gliding has a new sponsor
EBLEX, the organisation for the English beef and sheep meat industry, have announced that they are delighted to support Gliding at the 2012 Wenlock Olympian Games.

Competition Director Jon Hall said recently that the Midland Gliding Club was thrilled that such an appropriately British organisation was supporting the event.

With EBLEX’s valued support the Midland Gliding Club, along with the Vintage Glider Club, will make this 2012 event truly memorable.  Visitors to the games at Much Wenlock on Saturday 14th July and Sunday 15th July will see a thrilling aerobatic display by a replica of the glider that demonstrated at the 1936 Olympic Games.  They can also visit a static display of a vintage and modern glider beside the Gaskell Field.  From the 15th to 20th July gliders racing from the Long Mynd will be seen flying over Much Wenlock, weather permitting.

Visitors are most welcome to come and enjoy the competition at the Midland Gliding Club located on the Long Mynd near Church Stretton.  There is a special invitation to the public to attend the medals ceremony on 21st July.  The day will include a gliding simulator and a special display of the History of Gliding by the Vintage Glider Club.

Entry is free so come along and join in the fun.
