Valentine gift - Gourmet Cycle Tour with bicycle made for two

Valentine gift - Gourmet Cycle Tour with bicycle made for two
Wheely Wonderful Cycling has launched a new gourmet cycling short break holiday in the English/Welsh borders. Ideal as a Valentine gift for keen cyclists.

Staying one night in food lovers' Ludlow at The Feathers Hotel, described as "the most handsome inn in the World" by the New York Times. Then, cycle to the Stagg inn at Titley for the second night's stay. The Stagg is Britain's first pub to be awarded a Michelin star. Two days great cycling around Herefordshire and the Wye valley. The cycling holiday includes accommodation at the Stagg and The Feathers, quality bikes, luggage transfers & unique route maps. £275pp.

It is an ideal holiday to celebrate a special occasion. Cyclists can also book a meal at one of Ludlow's Michelin listed or star restaurants, on their first night and pick up a gourmet picnic from Ludlow's delicatessens before they start their cycle ride. There are also some outstanding inns on the cycle route through Herefordshire, with great food reputations; such as the Riverside Inn at Aymestrey, The Lion Hotel in Leintwardine or Jules Restaurant in Weobley. Cyclists use about 300 calories an hour, so this tour gives cyclists the opportunity to enjoy these great restaurants in the knowledge that they have burnt off calories during the day.

The basic cycling routes cover 20 – 35 miles a day, with options for longer rides. Tandems are also available for the short break; a very sociable way to ride and ideal if one partner is a stronger cyclist than the other.

Kay Dartnell from Wheely Wonderful Cycling says, "We've all seen the phenomenal growth in cycling sportives, triathlons etc and often one partner is left behind. We’ve had a number of non cycling partners come to us to provide a cycling break that they can join in, but is challenging enough to keep the cycling mad partner happy too. Tandems are often an ideal way of bridging this gap. And we are happy to adapt the cycle routes –so that the holidaymakers get the mileage they want."

Mrs. Kennedy said "I booked a Tandem cycling weekend as a present for my cycling mad husband for a slightly different 20th wedding anniversary present. We both love fitness so wanted long routes with beautiful views, good food along the way…We had lots of giggles on the Tandem and thoroughly enjoyed the Wheely Wonderful experience."
