Thumbs up for Up 'n' Down - Offa's Taste Frontier
10th October 2012
The new ale has been produced to continue promotion of the excellent Walking with Offa initiative which supports rural pubs Up ‘n’ Down the English / Welsh border.
Clare Fildes, Development Officer for the Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership commented “The circular Walking with Offa pub walks have been a great success and we are hoping to develop more from different rural pubs in the future. Up ‘n’ Down – Offa’s Taste Frontier continues the promotion of these walks, and 5p from every pint sold is going towards conserving and sustaining the Shropshire Hills.”
Jack Limond, publican from the White Horse Inn, Clun, and where Up ‘n’ Down was launched last Friday adds “What better way is there to spend an autumn day in the beautiful Shropshire Hills, than going on a walk punctuated by a foaming beer in front of a real fire in a real pub."
We are also running a competition, encouraging people to visit three different pubs, and sum up the setting of each in a word or two on the back of an Up ‘n’ Down beermat. Each pub will stamp your beermat and when you have three stamps post the beermat (freepost) back to us for a chance to win a bumper Hobsons prize pack including special edition walking jacket, brewery tour, pub lunch and case of beers.
