Sponsor a tree at Ludlow Castle

Sponsor a tree at Ludlow Castle
Following on from their successful open day on May 18th, Ludlow Castle is offering the unique chance to sponsor a tree within its grounds to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Castle’s purchase by Lord Powis in 1811. The purchase saved the Castle from Government plans of the day to pull it down and sell the stone and timber.

Tom Till, FRICS Managing Agent for the Powis Castle Estate said, “The Castle Walks were laid out by the Countess of Powis in the 18th century with a tree-lined avenue on the west side. Only one or two of the ancient limes survive today so to commemorate this 200th year in a more permanent way will be replanting the avenues later this year with 200 new trees.”

“We are inviting anyone interested in sponsoring a tree to contact us. Details are available in the Gift Shop at Ludlow Castle, by telephoning The Castle Office on 01584 874465 or by visiting www.ludlowcastle.com
