Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre Wins Award Voted by the Public

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre Wins Award Voted by the Public
The team at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre are celebrating after their win at the Shropshire Star spotlight awards, showcasing the very best in Shropshire's leisure and entertainment sector. Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre was awarded 'Best Family Day Out (small venue)'.

The award is a welcome accolade just 7 months after the running of the visitor attraction was taken over by Grow Cook Learn, a registered charity. Manager, Valerie Meehan said 'We are so thrilled to have won this award, the team work so hard to improve the visitor offer at the Discovery Centre. The award makes it even more special knowing we have so much support from the general public and our visitors. The two attractions nominated in the same category offer an excellent visitor experience too so it's a real privilege to win.'

The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre houses a replica of the famous mammoth skeleton found in Shropshire, has a café and an extensive shop selling a range of quirky gifts.  Every half term and summer holiday the visitor attraction provides hands-on family activities that remain ever popular. Toddlers aren’t left out either as each Tuesday activities specifically aimed at younger children encourage them to explore nature and get creative.

The team at the Discovery Centre will be offering family activities during its Santa Saturdays on 6th and 13th December, call 01588 676060 or visit the website for further details: www.shropshirehillsdiscoverycentre.co.uk
