New inclusive cycle trail opens at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre
13th May 2015
The 200 metre trail will be tested this Saturday (16th May 2015) in the beautiful setting of the Onny Meadows. It provides cycling opportunities for all abilities and where necessary with support and on specialist adaptive cycles. The trail is particularly suitable for children learning to balance and ride, adult beginners or returners wanting safe space to practice and those with special needs and disabilities.
Catherine Collier, Marketing and Development Manager said "We are so excited to be able to provide this facility, it's another positive move to offer a range of things to see and do at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre for our visitors of all abilities. We are fortunate to have the project funded by Shropshire Council’s Sustainable Transport Project (and government's Local Sustainable Transport Fund), we are supported in this development by Cycling4All, Shropshire. It's the first inclusive cycle venue of its kind in South Shropshire, we are encouraging visitors to come along on 16th May and join us on 14th June to celebrate National Bike Week for a Family fun day, families can have a go at various cycle sessions throughout the day with fun and games."
The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre is managed by Grow Cook Learn, a local charity connecting people to the landscape, history and food of the Shropshire Hills.
