New Blues 'n' Roots Festival for Church Stretton

New Blues 'n' Roots Festival for Church Stretton
Shropshire is getting a new addition to the festival calendar. The first ever Church Stretton Blues 'n' Roots Festival will be held in the town on Saturday 31st May 2014.

The festival, which will be supporting MacMillan Cancer Support, aims to showcase some of the best singer-song writers on the blues and roots scene. The line-up features both national and international artists, as well as some fantastic homegrown Shropshire talent.

Headlining the festival is 'Blues Boy' Dan Owen, winner of the British Blues Awards Best Young Artist 2013. A total of 14 Acts will be performing throughout the day from noon until 11pm including Gary Hall, influential Americana musician and former front man with The Stormkeepers, up and coming folk singer-songwriter Polly Money and BBC Radio favourite Sophie Scott.

As well as a full day of live music there will be musical workshops and activities for children.

A fully stocked licensed bar, as well as food from around the world, will be available on site, at Rectory Field, Church Stretton.

Tickets are very limited and cost £20 online (£25 on gate if still available). Tickets and other information at www.bluesnroots.co.uk.
