May Music, Fun and Games at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm

May Music, Fun and Games at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm in South Shropshire
It will be fun at the Farm over the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend. As well as Acton Scott Farm's gorgeous collection of baby animals, there will be the Wheelwright demonstrating his skills and Jean Atkin, Poet in Residence, encouraging you to demonstrate your literary ability at writing a Farm Poem.

On Saturday the staff and students of St. Lawrence Primary School will be dancing round the Maypole in the Parkland. On Monday 26th May 2014, Richard Beaumond will be playing tunes from Shropshire and Beyond on his Century-Old Concertina.

The Farm is also eagerly awaiting their new sow, a Tamworth, to have her third litter of piglets. This sow has only recently returned to Acton Scott, where she was born during filming of the BBC's 'Victorian Farm' - so its "Momma come home” to farrow!

In addition there wil be the traditional games of yesteryear out for children - and even adults - to have a go at hurling the hoopla, proving that it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to have fun. The award winning café will be open selling traditional Dandelion and Burdock, plus chef Matt Poulten’s fabulous home baked cakes - an absolute treat. The Bailiff’s wife will be making traditional lemonade and mini scones on her open Oven. So as usual it’s all going on at Acton Scott - it will be worth a visit, rain or shine.
