HF Holidays invests in The Longmynd Hotel
8th May 2012
Significant improvements with an investment of over £100,000 are planned for the exterior of the hotel and scaffolding – due to remain in place for 4-6 weeks – has now been erected at the visible rear of the building. Works will include roofing repairs, repairs to balconies, masonry and rendering, replacement windows and also repainting of parts of the exterior. Interior – including the reception area and the ground floor – will also benefit from a redesign and refurbishment.
The Longmynd Hotel is open for business as usual, with only a small number of bedrooms affected, accepting bookings for accommodation, functions and weddings. The popular Pavilion Restaurant is alive with themed weekly dining and special events in the upcoming months from Comedy Nights to Queen’s Jubilee afternoon party and Father’s Day celebrations.
The Hotel Manager, James Tully, said: “We are busily preparing for the first summer season of walking and leisure activity holidays at The Longmynd Hotel and it is very exciting to see it come to life with all the improvement works. We look to offer our guests – from local diners to walkers from across the UK – the best experience at our new base in Shropshire Hills.”
The works are planned to be completed prior to the first scheduled holiday by HF Holidays, a guided walking break commencing on Friday 8 June 2012. In 2012 HF Holidays will be offering a range of holidays based at The Longmynd Hotel including Guided Walking holidays, Discovery Tours, Gardens Tours, Industrial Revolution breaks and Bridge & Walking.
HF Holidays is operating The Longmynd Hotel in Church Stretton since 1 February 2012 on a 5 year lease-purchase arrangement. Local community and tourism representatives from Shropshire Hills area will be invited to join The Longmynd Hotel Management at an Open Day on Saturday 21 July 2012 following the improvement works.
