Half Term activities at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

Half Term activities at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre
The award winning Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre will be open to welcome families all through the February half term!

Our ever popular programme of school holiday activities continues this half term with our fun Paper Making sessions. Not only a chance to learn something new and be creative, but a great way to teach children about recycling while mushing up materials! It's as much fun for adults as well as children!

The Paper Making sessions run every day, Monday 16th to Friday 20th February from 1pm to 2.30 pm. £3.50 per accompanied child aged 5 – 11 and there is a discount for siblings. Please book to avoid disappointment.

We are also running a separate event for the little ones with a special Paper Making Toddle Time session on Tuesday 17th February from 10.30 – 11.30 am. £2 per child with discounts for siblings and children under 18 months go FREE! While aimed at the under 5s, older siblings are welcome to join in during the holidays!

In addition to our 'half term specials' our normal activities continue - the lovely meadows are free for walks and exploring and you can add an extra challenge by having a go at Geocaching - a modern version of a treasure-hunt! Using a hand-held GPS you navigate to different locations and when you get there you open the cache or find out the secret.

Indoors, there's the fantastic full size replica of the Mammoth skeleton found at Condover and you can learn about the Iron Age and how people lived all those centuries ago - and then of course there’s our fabulous café for coffee, afternoon tea, ice cream, cake or a home-cooked meal. We offer free wi-fi and have a selection of free daily newspapers and magazines for you to enjoy.

This half term there's something for everyone – every day!

The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre recently won the accolade 'Best Family Day Out – small venue'. It offers a variety of activities for the whole family and houses a replica of the famous mammoth skeleton found in Shropshire. The café serves delicious home-cooked food and an extensive shop selling a range of quirky gifts. Every half term and summer holiday the visitor attraction provides hands-on family activities. Toddlers aren't left out either, each Tuesday activities specifically aimed at younger children encourage them to explore nature and get creative.
