Food. glorious. Food

Food. glorious. Food
Shropshire Tourism has been approached by Optomen Television who is working with Simon Cowell’s production company SYCO TV on an exciting new food series for ITV1 called ‘Food. glorious. Food’.

This is a search for Britain's best loved recipe, and it’s a competition that anyone can enter - all it takes is the ability to cook one delicious dish.

Dawn Panton , Casting Producer at Optomen Television Limited said, “We are extremely excited about this new competition and even though it is a nationwide competition and open to everybody and anyone we’d very much welcome applicants from Shropshire, which of course, boasts and is home to foodie, Ludlow!”

“Everyone has a special recipe that tugs at your heart strings, brings back memories and sums up all that’s great about food. We want to draw on culinary talent and family recipes from every corner of Britain, celebrating amazing dishes cooked with love by mums, dads, husbands and wives, grannies, families and friends all over Britain.

The winning dish from the series will earn its owner a £20,000 cash prize as well as the pride of seeing their dish on the shelves of Marks & Spencer across the country (with all proceeds going to charity).

Claire Owen at Shropshire Tourism said, “If you have a special recipe you would like to share with the nation, or you know anyone who does, please do encourage them to apply. It would be great to have a Shropshire contestant on the series to showcase our fantastic local food - especially if it makes full use of Shropshire ingredients.”

For details on how you can enter the competition contact foodgloriousfood@optomen.com or telephone 0845 6000 047. Alternatively visit www.itv.com/beontv or www.foodgloriousfood.tv
