Blacksmith metalwork demonstrations at the October Craven Arms Farmers Market
4th October 2012
Frazer has been a blacksmith for over 15 years and completed his apprenticeship with Paul Allen, one of the best blacksmiths in the country. Frazer recently moved to a forge near Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, where he focuses on commissions and makes things to sell direct to the public, such as ornate candle sticks, door knockers, fire sets and bigger pieces such as gates, banisters and restoration work.
He explains “I used to work on restoration projects, including Hampton Court Palace and Bodleian Library in Oxford, but have decided to scale down and do more custom-made work for individuals. So, attending the Craven Arms Farmers Market will be a great way for people to see what I do.”
Along with Frazer and his mobile forge, we will have the regular local produce stalls at the Farmers’ Market which include Taylors local veg, Carys Cakes and Onnyview Free Range Produce, who cook up tasty sausage sandwiches at the market as well as selling free range meat produce.
Shopping at the monthly Craven Arms Farmers Market is always a fun and social experience, and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday 6th October, 9am – 1.30pm, at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.
