Description

Attractive south facing 16th century stable wing in a picturesque location near the Priory ruins.  It is grade 2 listed and provides characterful and comfortable accommodation for three or four people.

The cottage looks out over an old fashioned walled garden with lawns, flower beds and a mulberry tree towards the church.  Situated in the village conservation area it is a short walk to the village centre, or a few yards down the lane to open countryside and a network of paths leading to Wenlock Edge or the Ironbridge Gorge.  There is parking for two cars within the walled garden.

The cottage retains many original features including oak beamed ceilings, a large fireplace in the sitting room and a former kitchen range in the dining area.  Some period furniture and watercolours create an ambience in keeping with the style of the property.  The sitting room has high quality sofa and chairs, log burning stove, many shelves of books and television with DVD.  The refurbished kitchen has electric cooker, fridge and microwave and a dining area with table and seating for four; also a radio with cd player. Free WiFi included.

There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and a single bed, and the second with a single bed.  The bathroom has high quality fittings including bath with shower over and heated towel rail.

There is garden furniture and a variety of places to sit or relax in the garden.  In colder weather Priory Cottage provides cosy accommodation with the log burning stove in the sitting room.

There is a free supply of logs or coal and we include all electricity, heating, bed linen and towels in the price.  Our visitors’ book is a record over many years of people who have delighted in Priory Cottage and who return year after year to enjoy and explore this wonderful part of Shropshire.
