Folly View is a comfortably appointed holiday let situated in the heart of the beautiful South Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Providing a base from which to explore the many local attractions, historic towns, enchanting villages and walks with stunning views, Folly View is ideally situated on the edge of Craven Arms with easy access to both local amenities and the idyllic Shropshire countryside.

Accommodation
Folly View is a comfortable centrally heated flat, which is attached to the owner’s property. It has recently been completely refurbished providing sleeping accommodation for four people and one friendly well behaved dog. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 has twin beds with wardrobe and chest of drawers. Sitting Room has comfortable seating for four, adaptable lighting, digital TV, DVD player and CD player/radio/MP3player. There are also handy storage cupboards for luggage with extra hanging space. The kitchen is well-equipped and has an electric hob and oven/grill, microwave & small fridge freezer. There is also a dining area with table and four chairs. Entrance Hall provides hanging space for coats and a boot rack. Bathroom/WC has a sink & bath with shower over. Towels and bed linen are provided. The garden is fenced and has a patio area, table, chairs and bench.  Chimenea and barbeque are available on request.

Local Amenities
Craven Arms provides plenty of amenities, including a super-market , a Spar and a flower shop which sells fresh vegetables.  There is an Indian and a Chinese takeaway, plus two fish and chip shops. There are three public houses, two of which serve food. There are two banks, with cash points, and an additional cash point in the supermarket. Buses run down to Ludlow starting from Shrewsbury, and trains run hourly. All amenities are within a few minutes’ walk of Folly View.

Places to Visit
Folly View is an ideal base from which to explore the Shropshire Hills, there are many hill-forts to explore when you reach the top of the hills. There are many places of interest to visit within a short walk of Folly View, including: Stokesay Castle and Church, The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and “The Land of Lost Content” museum - a collection dedicated to British Popular Culture. At Church Stretton there is Cardingmill Valley, the Longmynd, & Acton Scott Farm Museum all proving interest for your holiday in Shropshire.

This is a fantastic area for those who enjoy walking, the Shropshire Way is easily accessible and can be explored in four directions from Craven Arms. There are many circular walks that can be started from Folly View - you can even walk to Flounders Folly, after which we have named the apartment.  If you enjoy cycling there are many cycle routes to explore and there are trails in the nearby Forestry Commission run Hopton Wood.

There are plenty of places to explore within easy reach, with beautiful historic towns such as Ludlow, Much Wenlock, Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury.  If historic houses are more your thing there are several National Trust properties to investigate, Attingham Park, in Herefordshire there is Croft Castle and Berrington Hall, and Powys Castle not far over the border into Wales. There is much more to explore.

2015 Tariff per week

Low season up till Easter £220.

Easter holidays are £390. From end of Easter until 1st October £260. School Holiday weeks are £390.

1st October till half term is £220. Half term is £390, then from 31st until mid December is £220. The two Christmas weeks are £390.

Directions

Leave the A49 in Craven Arms on the B4368 (Clun Road) and signposted Clun. After approximately 200 metres turn left onto a narrow driveway situated opposite Greenfield Road. Folly View is on the right hand side after 100 metres.
