Shropshire tourism businesses win national tourism awards for excellence. in South Shropshire
Eaton Manor Country Estate, based near Church Stretton in South Shropshire, has scooped a Bronze award in the Self Catering Holiday Provider of the Year category of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2013. Eaton Manor Country Estate was the only finalist to be recognised two years running.

It was a great night for Shropshire as two of the top three awards went to leading businesses in the county. Eaton Manor Country Estate and Combermere Abbey were both recognised for their outstanding contribution to national tourism.

The VisitEngland Awards are the premier event of the year for our national tourism industry, celebrating and showcasing the best that the country has to offer.  Eaton Manor Country Estate was named as Bronze winner during Monday night’s awards ceremony at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The owners, brother and sister team, Julian Madeley and Nichola Cariss, have been running the successful business since 2001, having diversified from farming.  They are strong advocates of supporting business in the community and primarily use Shropshire based suppliers and employ staff from the local area.  On winning the award, Nichola comments “This is a huge achievement for us to win such an esteemed national award, particularly as it is for the second year running.  It recognises that we offer a unique venue focusing on first class; personal service and ensuring our guests’ stays and celebrations are truly special and memorable.  We are proud that our collaboration with local people and businesses is the driving force behind our success.”

Eaton Manor Country Estate offers 4 & 5 star accommodation on a beautiful country estate next to the Wenlock Edge in South Shropshire and specialises in special occasions; family celebrations and holidays.  The estate is conveniently located for top attractions such as Ironbridge; Ludlow and the BBC’s Victorian Farm at Acton Scott, whilst the Shropshire Hills are on the doorstep.
