To celebrate the discovery of the Shropshire Mammoth 30 years ago, The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre will be hosting a Mammoth Weekend of family fun with lots of exciting events for everyone.


New aircraft arrivals heading to Cosford

5th October 2016

The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will be welcoming a collection of new aircraft to the site later this year as it prepares to celebrate and commemorate the centenary of the Royal Air Force in 2018. New arrivals will include a Wolverhampton built Boulton Paul Defiant Mk 1, the last surviving example of its kind, plus a rare Messerschmitt BF109G-2.


Creepy crafts at Cosford this Halloween!

October half term is almost upon us and this year the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford has a range of devilish Halloween crafts for your little monsters to take part in. These spookily creative activities cost just £1 each and will run from 24-28 October between 11.30am and 3pm with all materials provided by the museum.

Experience the virtual skies at Cosford

Aviation fans can experience the virtual skies in Shropshire next month as the Flight Sim 2016 event heads to the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford. Taking place on Saturday 8 October, aviation enthusiasts will enjoy a day packed with all the latest flight simulation software and the chance to test out their virtual flying skills.

See the Flying Scotsman and Tornado Locomotives race through Country Park

From Thursday 22nd to Monday 26th September the steam locomotives Flying Scotsman and Tornado are visiting the Severn Valley Railway. The line passes through the country park and offers visitors the opportunity to see the locomotives close by as they steam through.
