New cycling holiday for food lovers

New cycling holiday for food lovers
A stay at a Michelin starred inn and restaurant on the Welsh border is the reward for cyclists on a new short break cycling holiday run by Wheely Wonderful Cycling.

This new "The Stagg Inn and the Georgian Vicarage" holiday for 2013 is available with start days of Tuesday to Friday until October priced at £295 per person. Cyclists cycle between 20 to 30 miles each day to work up an appetite for their Michelin starred evening meal and breakfast.
The holiday starts at Wheely Wonderful Cycling’s base near Ludlow, where cyclists are given bikes and route guides for their cycle trip, then cycle through the quiet country lanes of North Herefordshire and the Welsh borders to stay at the Stagg Inn and Vicarage at Titley, near Presteigne.
Kay Dartnell, who runs Wheely Wonderful Cycling, said: "Our cyclists love The Stagg because of the great food and a really friendly atmosphere. Our cycling guests stay in the Old Vicarage, which is run by the chef’s mum, Wynn, who provides a wonderful welcome and it’s a great place to unwind and rest those weary muscles.
"And remember that you use about 300 calories per hour when you are cycling – so you really can reward yourself at the end of the day."
The Stagg Inn was the UK’s first pub to receive a Michelin star for their locally sourced food. The cycling route goes through the countryside that provides this wonderful food, from the orchards of Dunkerton’s cider farm to trout from the River Lugg.

The holiday includes: Three day cycle tour with two nights b&b in country house accommodation. Quality bikes and equipment, luggage transportation, special route guides and maps, comprehensive holiday information pack, full emergency back up service and safe parking at Petchfield Farm
