Olympic Torch Relay – disruption to businesses and transport. On Thursday 24 May and Wednesday 30 May 2012 we’re expecting lots of local people, visitors and school children to line the streets and welcome the Olympic Torch as it passes through 11 communities in Shropshire. Although our highways team and the Police will closely manage traffic and crowds, the Relay is expected to cause some disruption to people’s journeys and normal business activity may be affected for a short while.

It is important that businesses such as registry offices, law courts, medical centres, crematoriums, churches and other services such as midwives and Meals on Wheels are prepared for these possible delays.

The torch, to be carried by a number of inspirational Torchbearers, will pass through the communities of Ludlow, Clee Hill and Cleobury Mortimer on Thursday 24th May and Oswestry, Pant, Llanymynech, Shrewsbury, Cressage, Much Wenlock, Benthall and Broseley on Wednesday 30th May 2012. Please use the link below for further information.
