Hedgelaying Course in Onny Meadows at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

Hedgelaying Course in Onny Meadows at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre
There is no better way to enjoy the outdoors this time of year than to learn a new skill. The team at the award winning Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre are holding a one day course on hedge laying in the Onny Meadows on 7th December.

Local, experienced hedge layer David Marpole will teach beginners the traditional hedge laying craft.  Marketing and Development Manager, Catherine Collier  said ‘We are keen to offer a range of learning experiences at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, the hedge laying course is one of a series of courses available at the Discovery Centre, we only have limited spaces available so please call us to book your place. We are just finalising the 2015 events and course programme so I would urge people to check out the website for further details’.

Peter Norman (pictured) who leads the volunteers looking after the maintenance of the Onny Meadows has already signed up for the hedge laying course, he said ‘I am looking forward to learning this wonderful traditional skill of hedge laying, I hope to put into practice what I learn to restore some of the hedges here at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre as well as helping to provide better habitat for wildlife in the Onny Meadows’.
